Non Pro competitors, do you have a 3-year-old for the upcoming National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity? If not, this news will make you want to find one.

The added money for the Futurity Non Pro will be an unprecedented $100,000 in 2014!

“Thanks to a new NRCHA Corporate Partnership with Scottsdale, Arizona-based Discount Tire, the Futurity Non Pro payout will be the biggest in our association’s history,” said NRCHA Executive Director Jay Winborn, who announced the new relationship with Discount Tire Friday, May 2, during the NRCHA Hackamore Classic in Pueblo, Colo.

The deadline to purchase a NRCHA Futurity Non Pro slot is just nine days away: May 16, 2014. Slots may be sold and horse and rider are not required to be named until August. Progressive entries can still be purchased after May 16, although those entries may not be sold and late fees will apply.

The total entry cost for the Futurity Non Pro has been reduced to $1,800 in 2014. The fee was $2,400 last year. Based on current entry numbers, and including the Discount Tire sponsorship, the payout for the Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro & Novice Non Pro divisions will total $160,480 and will be broken down as follows:

Non Pro: $96,288
Intermediate: $48,144
Novice: $16,048

In addition, the Amateur and Non Pro Limited divisions will have $5,000 added money apiece.
